NEW ZEALAND STYLE VACUUM GRASS SILAGE

Are you tired of getting hay wet? Are you tired of feeding over-maturing or wet hay to cows? Are you tired of buying commercial feed to balance your poor hay? Have you considered the money you have tied up in your mower, conditioner, rake, tedder, baler?

Grass has all the nutrients your cowherd needs. The loss comes from curing out hay, weather loss, storage loss, timing of harvest, etc. Look at your cows eating lush spring grass - wouldn't you like to feed that same material to your cows this winter with less equipment cost and no weather loss?

One man, with one tractor, can operate this system with one pass over the field. If it rains, you have no damaged forage in the field, when it stops raining you can start again at your convenience without worrying about the next 3 day forecast.

Direct chopped, long stem grass silage is unloaded over a PVC pipe with holes drilled the entire length. Next, the grass stack is covered with plastic; Dirt covers all the edges. The PVC pipe is attached to a portable "dairy vacuum pump" to remove the air. No driving over the stack trying to "pack" the silage.

Winter feeding is with the same silage wagon, unloading the silage on the pasture in a narrow row directly on the ground. All cattle, even the most timid, get their share without the mud and competition of a round bale feeder. The silage is typically so good the cows almost lick the ground to get it all.

All the benefits of superior forage harvest, and at a cost for the entire system including chopper, silage wagon, and silage grab for you front end loader, at less than the cost of a new hay baler.

Come see the system at work on my farm or call me for more information.
